What are the payment methods?

We accept: cash, interact transfers, certified cheques, bank drafts and credit cards.

Are financing options available?

We do not provide financing. However, if you are dealing with a third-party financing company, we do accept payments from them.

How should I prepare for my surgery?

Please see the “before surgery” section to understand what to do.

What is the consultation fee?

The consultation fee is 150$ plus taxes.

When can I travel after my surgery?

Discussing your travel plans with Dr. Gdalevitch during your initial consultation is always safer. However, most insurance companies will not cover you in case of emergency should you choose to travel within three months of your surgery.

What should I stop prior to my surgery?

  • You must stop smoking eight weeks before surgery if you are a smoker.
  • If you take any blood thinners, such as aspirin, you must stop taking them two weeks before surgery.
  • If you are taking contraceptive pills or are under any hormone therapy, you must discontinue it two weeks before surgery.
  • Avoid taking anti-inflammatory drugs two weeks prior to surgery.
  • Omega 3, Vitamin E, Glucosamine, and Echinacea must be stopped three weeks before surgery.

How long has Dr. Gdalevitch been practicing?

Dr. Gdalevitch has been in practice since 2010. She was previously in Vancouver until 2015 and has been back in Montreal since.

What do the letters MD, FRCSC, MSc and FACS mean after Dr. Gdalevitch's name?

MD is for Medicinae Doctor, FRCSC is for Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada, and MSc is for Master of Science in surgery. FACS is for Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.

Are there tests to do before my surgery?

For general anesthesia, Dr. Gdalevitch will ask you to do an EKG and blood test, as well as pre-operative pictures.

Will there be scars?

Yes, all surgeries involve scars. There is no scar-less procedure. Please refer to specific procedures for details and scar patterns.

When should I stop eating and drinking prior to my surgery?

We usually ask you to be on an empty stomach as of midnight the night before for morning surgery. For surgery happening later during the day, we ask you to be on an empty stomach 8 hours prior to your surgery.

Will I need help from a friend or a family member on the day of my surgery?

Yes, you will need someone to bring you and pick you up after the surgery since you will be too weak to get back home safely.

Do you accept multiple payments?

We accept only two payments. The deposit of 30% when you schedule your surgery date and the final payment two weeks before your surgery.
