Inverted nipple correction creates a normal projection and an esthetically pleasing appearance of your nipples. Inverted nipples can occur when the ducts of the nipple are tight, pulling the projection inward into the areola. It is common for patients to be born with inverted nipples. This condition may cause cosmetic concerns for patients and interfere with breastfeeding.

Inverted nipple correction is a relatively quick procedure that can restore the projection of the nipple and increase the aesthetic appearance.

Techniques for Inverted Nipple Correction

Inverted nipple correction can be performed under local anesthesia. The procedure is relatively simple and provides patients with very inconspicuous scars that are hidden in the areola. These scars fade over time and are generally not noticeable.

Dr. Gdalevitch will make small incisions during your surgery to release the nipple from the tight ducts beneath the skin. The nipple will then be pulled forward, and sutures will be placed around the edges of the nipple to close the incisions.
